NICOLE'S EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
Nicole worked her way through the University of Florida, graduating with high honors and earning double major degrees in Psychology and Criminology. She was in the top 10 of her class at Stetson University College of Law.
While a law student, Nicole gained valuable experience interning with a Middle District of Florida federal judge and as a Certified Legal Intern with the Sixth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. The Certified Legal Intern program provided Nicole with the opportunity to take cases to trial under the supervision of an attorney while she was still in law school.
COMMUNITY
Nicole and her husband Lee have been a part of this community since 2005 when they came here for law school and decided to put their roots down here. They have brought their parents and siblings here to also become part of this community.
Nicole volunteers as the den leader for Pack 43, Cub Scouts and strives to foster an appreciation in her scouts for their community and the great outdoors.
In what is a rarity for a judicial candidate, Nicole is also a small business owner, which gives her valuable insight into the challenges business owners face with the judicial system. Nicole and her husband Lee also own Romp n’ Roll, which they brought to the City of St. Petersburg in 2014. Romp n' Roll is an indoor gym, that offers play, music, and art classes to children 5 years of age or under.
Nicole is a member of the Rotary club and volunteers her time with community service activities organized by the Rotary.
Nicole has always had a desire to help people in need and to use her time, energy, and talents towards that goal. As a judge, she would bring that same desire and the characteristics that she developed over her legal career to the bench.
COURTROOM
As an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, which serves both Pinellas and Pasco Counties, Nicole represented the State and assisted victims of crimes in reaching results that served the best interests of justice. She tried over 60 jury trials as well as securing verdicts in non-jury trials and litigating complex motion issues. Her breadth of experience as a prosecutor includes handling a wide range of cases, from DUI charges to Child Sex Crimes.
In private practice, Nicole focuses primarily on family law litigation. This is an area of the law that can be emotionally charged, complex, and where the outcome has great potential to affect people’s lives for many years to come.
Nicole is proud of her work in helping families navigate the court system through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Her career has allowed her to help countless parents, children, and other family members achieve stability, finality, and safety despite challenging circumstances.
